Keplerth Update: New Features and Improvements
In an exciting update for fans of the indie RPG and simulation game Keplerth, developers have announced the addition of several new features, adjustments, and bug fixes aimed at enhancing the gameplay experience.
New Features
The latest patch introduces a Pet and Mounts system, allowing players to tame all non-humanoid creatures, which can now join in combat. While pets currently offer fighting and riding capabilities, the developers plan to expand their functionalities in future updates.
Additionally, the update includes new items such as Monster Skin dropped by mobs and Leather from cows, which can be utilized in crafting various leather armor pieces, gloves, and shoes. The crafting system has been further enhanced with the introduction of a Pet Collar, available through the Goblin Workbench, and new merchandise offerings from NPC merchants.
Players can also look forward to the introduction of a new animal: the Horse, which will undoubtedly add a new dimension to exploration and gameplay.
Gameplay Adjustments
Significant gameplay adjustments have been implemented, including an increase in damage for shotgun weapons, accompanied by a slight narrowing of their attack range. The rules governing safe housing areas have also been modified, ensuring that mobs will not respawn in areas fully enclosed by player-placed walls or blocks, provided the room size is kept below 40x40.
To enhance player navigation, a 10-minute countdown timer has been added to death markers, allowing multiple markers to exist simultaneously until they disappear after the countdown.
Bug Fixes
The update addresses several critical bugs, including issues with animals escaping enclosures, mobs respawning in inaccessible areas, and inconsistencies with racial buffs upon death. Additional fixes resolve problems with crafting stations producing unlimited items under certain conditions and incorrect charges when purchasing goods from NPCs.
Development Roadmap
The developers have also shared their progress on a 2-3 month development plan, which includes the implementation of friendly NPCs and their villages, an evolving trading system, and ongoing enhancements to pet interactions. Further plans include NPC quests, additional content related to Goblins and Insector creatures, and the introduction of Meco Technology.
The team emphasizes their commitment to maintaining frequent updates and transparency regarding their development progress. Players and fans of Keplerth can stay informed by following the game on Steam discussions, via email at [email protected], or on Twitter at @Keplerth_Taro.
