Keplerth Update: New Features and Ongoing Development Progress
The popular indie RPG, Keplerth, has recently announced a significant update, introducing new features and adjustments aimed at enhancing player experience. The update focuses on expanding the Gene Editing system, which is pivotal to gameplay and character customization.
New Gene Modules Added
The update introduces four new Gene Modules within the Knowledge category of the Gene Editing system. These modules enhance gameplay mechanics as follows:
- Beast Whisperer: Increases the success rate of taming pets by 10%.
- Drug Addict: Reduces the cooldown period of all therapeutic drugs by 20 seconds.
- Master of Physical Skills: Slows down armor durability loss by 15%.
- Master of Firearms: Provides a 15% chance of not consuming ammunition when firing.
Gameplay Adjustments
Several gameplay adjustments have been implemented, including a reduction in movement speed when shooting with long-range weapons, now set at 30%. Additionally, adjustments have been made to in-game tips and the cancellation of two previous Gene Modules related to armor durability and ammunition consumption; however, existing players can still use these modules. The effect of the "Maintenance Man" Gene Module has been enhanced, increasing the additional durability gained when repairing equipment from 10% to 20%. Furthermore, players can now create Explosive Barrels using the Grounder Workbench.
Bug Fixes
The update also addresses various bugs, enhancing overall stability. Key fixes include resolving an issue that prevented the Healing Salve from sharing cooldowns with other drugs and rectifying interface problems during boss battles.
Ongoing Development and Future Updates
The development team has outlined its current progress, highlighting several completed features such as the achievement system, NPC quests, and the introduction of a new guidance system. Upcoming features under internal testing include a multiplayer system. Additionally, the team is actively working on systems for dungeons, mercenaries, and weather effects.
Future plans encompass NPC class differences, friendly NPC interactions, and the long-term development of the Meco Biotech content series. However, challenges remain with certain features, such as the body-part editing system and vehicles, which are still in the research and development stage.
The development team remains committed to transparency and regular updates. Players are encouraged to stay engaged and provide feedback, as their support is vital for the ongoing success of Keplerth.
