Keplerth Update: New Features, Adjustments, and Ongoing Development Progress
In a recent announcement, the developers of Keplerth, an indie adventure RPG, have revealed an exciting update packed with new features and adjustments aimed at enhancing the gameplay experience for both single-player and multiplayer modes.
New Content Highlights: The update introduces a variety of new items, including a craftable "Fishing Rod" at the chemistry workbench, alongside several fish-related items and dishes. A new category, "Sickle," has been added to streamline crop harvesting, allowing players to avoid repetitive planting. Additionally, the categorization of torches has been refined; players can now choose between placeable and hand-held torches, which serve dual purposes of lighting and igniting materials.
Players can also look forward to the inclusion of searing arrows that inflict burn damage on enemies and other combustibles, as well as two new accessory slots for further customization.
Adjustments Made: Significant adjustments have been made to weapon mechanics. Firearms and melee weapons will no longer damage placeable objects, except for burn and explosion effects. The stack limits for most items have been increased to 999, with arrows and bullets now capped at 9,999. Crafting has been made more intuitive, with workbenches categorized by material type, eliminating the need for manual material selection. Moreover, damage display has been simplified for clarity.
Bug Fixes: The update also addresses several bugs, including issues with weapon displays in multiplayer mode and the unintended interaction of shovels with hyperspace flooring. Sound effects from chainsaws have been adjusted to eliminate infinite sound propagation, and improvements have been made to the user interface’s zoom functionality.
Ongoing Development: The development team is actively working on a range of new features, including an achievement system, equipment enhancements, and a new guidance system, all of which are already integrated into the game. Future updates will introduce a multiplayer system currently in internal testing, as well as improvements to the gene editing system and support for Steam Workshop mods.
Planned features include various NPC functionalities, body-part editing, and a robust event system, among others. The team remains committed to transparency and frequent updates, expressing gratitude to the community for their ongoing support.
This update marks a significant step forward in the evolution of Keplerth, promising to enhance the gameplay experience for both new and returning players.
