Stranded: Alien Dawn Expands with New 'Robots and Guardians' DLC Launching November 7
Stranded: Alien Dawn is set to enhance its gameplay experience with the upcoming release of the 'Robots and Guardians' DLC on November 7. This expansion introduces a fresh scenario, new items, robotic defenses, innovative recipes, and two new characters, including the sentient android Hope 9000 and survivor Henry Caldwell.
The new Guardians scenario places players in control of three rebels who have recently freed Hope 9000, the galaxy's first sentient android. Now evading a powerful manufacturing consortium, these rebels take refuge on an uncharted planet where they must protect Hope's unique essence while battling environmental challenges and hostile forces. The consortium will deploy non-sentient robots, combat drones, and mobile turrets to eliminate both Hope and the rebels, but players have the ability to repurpose the enemy robots for their own defense.
Players will start with a small group of rebels, making strategic choices about their starting characters essential. While Hope can perform basic tasks, players can also create service robots to assist in various activities such as cooking and resource harvesting. Additionally, the rebels can build a Trading Pod to engage with passing ships, potentially recruiting new survivors.
The primary objective within the Guardians scenario is to ensure Hope evolves to full sentience, achieving an Intellect skill level of 10, while avoiding irreparable damage that could lead to defeat.
Hope 9000 begins as a blank slate, sharing basic skills with her human companions but initially limited in her abilities. As she gains experience and interacts with the rebels, she can unlock new skills and traits that enhance her performance, including participation in combat if desired. Unlike her human allies, Hope does not require sleep but needs energy sources, making resource management a critical aspect of gameplay.
The DLC also introduces new robotic enemies, including combat robots, flying Battle Drones, and Mobile Turrets. These adversaries will challenge players, but they can also be repurposed to bolster the rebels' defenses. Players can utilize Battle Bots in combat or assign them to defensive positions, while flying drones and mobile turrets offer strategic advantages against both ground and aerial threats.
For those eager to see the new content in action, a livestream event featuring the developers from Haemimont Games will take place on November 6 at 15:30 GMT. This session will showcase the Guardians scenario and other updates on both Twitch and YouTube.
As the release date approaches, the community is encouraged to share their thoughts and engage with the developers through various social media platforms and forums.
