Stranded: Alien Dawn Announces Major Update: Tame and Train
As we step into the new year, the development team behind Stranded: Alien Dawn is thrilled to unveil the Tame and Train Update, marking the second significant Early Access update for the game. This update introduces an innovative animal taming mechanic, alongside the addition of a new survivor and several quality-of-life improvements.
The Tame and Train Update aims to enhance the gameplay experience by allowing players to tame various animals within the game. Players will have access to a new research option that unlocks animal taming capabilities, requiring specific food and a certain level of Farming skill. The requirements will vary based on the animal type, encouraging players to observe creatures before attempting to tame them. Notably, some animals may require pacification prior to taming, while others remain untameable.
Once tamed, players can engage with these animals to foster happiness among their survivors, breed livestock, or utilize them for protection during hostile encounters. Each tamed creature will have unique needs, including food and resting areas, which must be managed to ensure their well-being. The newly introduced Animal Feeder will assist in meeting these needs, helping to prevent animals from damaging crops.
In addition to the taming mechanics, the update introduces new animals, including three dog breeds—Weimaraner, Boxer, and Great Dane. These dogs can fight alongside survivors or serve as companions to enhance overall morale. Their ability to bond with survivors is expected to further elevate survivor happiness.
The update also features a new survivor, Hugo Delano, a former zookeeper turned resistance fighter, who brings expertise in animal taming and farming techniques to the team. His background promises to enrich gameplay and deepen interactions with the newly introduced animal mechanics.
Players can anticipate the full patch notes to be released on January 24. The development team is committed to incorporating community feedback and will continue to provide updates throughout the Early Access phase. For those interested in exploring the new features, a live demonstration of the taming mechanic will take place on January 18 at 4:00 PM GMT on Twitch and YouTube.
